Our History
Impact Advisors was founded in 2007 by Andrew and Peter Smith and a handful of experienced colleagues who had worked together previously as consultants and in executive roles at some of the nation’s foremost health delivery organizations. The group envisioned a firm of the best talent, obsessed with providing the highest quality services to positively impact the most important of industries – healthcare.

Meet our Leaders
Managing Partner & FounderAndrew Smith
Andrew’s 30-year career has been dedicated to the healthcare industry, developing and implementing information systems, services, and strategic plans, all aimed at improving the business of healthcare. His extensive experience working with academic hospitals, integrated delivery networks (IDNs), community hospitals and physician group practices enables him to serve as a strategic advisor to many of the industry’s leading healthcare executives. Andrew holds a B.S.A. from Miami University.
Managing Partner & FounderPeter Smith
Peter has more than 35 years of experience in healthcare and is an industry thought leader. He has worked with many of the country’s leading healthcare organizations and has engaged senior executives to better understand and appreciate the strategic implications of advanced healthcare technology, as well as plan for its deployment. He serves as a trusted advisor to several Chief Information Officers (CIOs), providing thought leadership on challenging organizational development, change management and strategic technology issues. Peter holds a B.S. in Systems Analysis from Miami University.
Managing PartnerJohn Klare
Chief Growth OfficerJohn Stanley
John brings over 30 years of experience in strategy development, operations and project management, and technology implementation. He has served as a trusted advisor for C-suite leaders at healthcare delivery networks, academic medical centers, hospitals, physician/faculty practices, and community health centers/clinics. John is a recognized thought leader in integrated delivery network (IDN), hospital and ambulatory information management, public and private health information exchange (HIE), and healthcare analytics solutions. John holds an MBA from Seattle University and a BA in Economics from University of Washington.
Vice President of FinanceKristin MacCarthy
Kristin is a seasoned financial executive with 35 years of financial management experience across Fortune 100 and privately held organizations. She has led finance functions through strategic growth, M&A, and operational transformation.
Interim Chief Human Resources Officer Kristin Costanzo
Kristin is an experienced and highly skilled Human Resources executive with extensive experience the healthcare industry, serving as an expert at multiple large medical centers. She has exceptional leadership abilities and facilitates high performance and efficiencies in all engagements.
Chief Information OfficerMichael Garzone
Michael is an accomplished healthcare executive who specializes in information technology solutions for the healthcare provider and payer industry with a concentration in the management and financial accountability of professional services business units. Mike has more than four decades of experience leading enterprise technology organizations and advising healthcare executives on IT strategy, risk management, and operational effectiveness.
Chief of Staff Catherine Christian
Catherine has built her career in the healthcare industry, leading enterprise transformation efforts, advancing operational excellence, and executing strategic initiatives across health systems and top consulting firms. She has partnered with healthcare organizations and medical groups to enhance operational and financial performance, including serving in interim leadership roles. She has played a key role in the development and expansion of Impact Advisors’ Strategy and Operations practice.
